It’s something I never noticed when visiting the Natural History Museum as a child, but the architecture of the museum itself is magnificent. It is named the Waterhouse Building after its architect Alfred Waterhouse. There is detail where ever you look, from monkeys climbing up a column of bones, to dinosaurs perched on the ledges of windows. So much detail you could visit the building hundreds of times still see something new. You can read and see more photos on the Natural History Museum’s website.
They don’t make buildings like this these days, I imagine the cost of workmanship would be too great.
